Badrinath (Allu Arjun) is groomed by Guru Bhishma Narayan (Prakash Raj) as a protector of the badrinath temple. Into that temple walks Alaka Nanda (Tamannah) who due to circumstances becomes a staunch agnostic. Badri converts her into a believer and in the process, without him being aware, becomes the object of her affection. Alaka Nanda's love for Badri, causes a conflict in the mind of his Guru who begins to doubt him. And then  villainy of Sircar (Kelly Dorjee) enters. Sircar's aim is to marry his son to Alaka Nanda. The rest of the story is about how Alaka Nanda and Badri become one to prove that love.

National Award-winning cinematographer K V Anand is coming out with his third Tamil film Ko  very soon. His first film as a director was Kana Kandein which was critically acclaimed while his second film Ayan was the biggest commercial success of 2009.

His major films as a cinematographer other than Priyadarshan's Thenmavil Kombath for which he won the National Award, include Shankar's Mudhalvan, Sivaji, Rajkumar Santhoshi's The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Khakhee, Mansoor Khan's Josh, to name a few.

The audio of Ko composed by Harris Jayaraj was released on the January 19 amidst much fanfare.

K V Anand who started his career as a photo journalist narrates the story of a photo journalist in Ko. Jiiva plays the photo journalist while Karthika, daughter of the yesteryear actress Radha plays a journalist in the film. Ajmal and Piia also play major roles

You started your career as a photo journalist. Now the protagonist of Ko is A photo journalist. Is the film autobiographical?

Yes, I started my career as a photo journalist with the Tamil magazine Kalki.  I have done quite a few cover stories for India Today and Illustrated Weekly also. I have also taken cover photographs for Suba's (Suresh and Bala) crime thrillers  So, photo journalism is one field I know more than anything else. I know how magazines work but not much about news papers. But this film is not autobiographical.

Story                       : A customary revenge drama, between the children of two political leaders is what all it has.
The first 30 min shows the rise of Prathap Ravi(Vivek Oberoi) into a strong political leader, his works and actions for the eliminations of his enemies. As expected, the focus shifts next to the man who is determined to pull him down. Here, it was Suriya, a young man who never wanted to even live in his homeland just because he hated politics and the political people, and gradually he gets dragged into those.
The film moves on to show how Suriya shows his vengeance against his enemy and how Prathap defends it.

Even with a small story line, RGV scores brownie points in making the film an engrossing watch. Thanks to the technical and the acting department , the director has worked hard to extract the best out of them and it was evident on the screen. The fight scenes were violent but stylish, the dialogues were clap worthy, the camera and music were good and the other technical dept too worked to bring their best onscreen.

Performances:
Suriya: In word, superb. His emotions , body language, dialogue delivery , outburst etc were simply perfect.

Vivek Oberoi: Another fantastic performance, would surely rank amon his finest performances till date. His subtle and restrained emotions are a real treat.

This would be one of the best from RGV in the past 5 years. He is again back on track.

The director tried to infuse a little bit of mass elements into the film which tried to dampen the realistic flow of the film. Still, they are forgettable, considering the total quality of the movie.
